Praying in Jesus' Name

Why do we close prayers in Jesus' name? (I have wondered more than once, and also why we don't pray to Jesus Himself)

Because there is power in the name of Jesus.

Because Jesus has interceded for us, bridging the gap between us and God.

Because when we pray we genuinely acknowledge Jesus as important in our lives.

Because we will recognize that we are praying for God's glory

When we pray, we construct the prayers towards God through Jesus' name. It is as if we are whispering our prayers into Jesus' ear, and then Jesus, who sits on God the father's right-hand side, whispers our prayers into God's ear.
