Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. - Romans 5

I don't know why...but just now I remembered a picture I once saw on the internet. It showed a (asian) dad who was well dressed and was sitting at the end of a table full of delicious and expensive looking food. Alone. His head was resting on his hands while he remembers the past where he and his wife and young boy sat around a small table eating instant ramen. They were all smiling and laughing.

I don't ever want to be like that man.

I feel like I am going down the path towards that end.

I wonder how I can make this Biblical...

To say we have failed God is to say that we had any strength inherent to us (and not from God) to use to fail God with.

And God is faithful to both us and Himself (2 Timothy 2:11-13).

God is Faithful

Forget about what we've been doing lately in obedience. Instead, ask ourselves this: how has God been faithful to me today?

(man I've been lacking in this, and to hear how much God has been faithful to those at prayer meeting has really pizzoned me to remember how much God has been faithful to me too)

God loves us NOT because have anything worthy of love at all, but because HE IS LOVE.

That is why we are so amazed and overwhelmed, which leads to belief!

I think...we need to have a basis for understanding of Christianity and God, thus we need a Biblical understanding of what we believe in.

What is the Biblical understanding of Sin?
What is the Biblical understanding of the Gospel?
What is the Biblical understanding of the Cross and atonement?
What is the Biblical understanding of Grace?
What is the Biblical understanding of Faith?
What is the Biblical understanding of Hope?
What is the Biblical understanding of Joy?
What is the Biblical understanding of Love?
What is the Biblical understanding of Glory?
What is the Biblical understanding of who is God?

Majority of Christians don't get it. Even I struggle a lot. Because of my lack of clarity of these things, I complain and am struggling and am confused by what I believe in. Floundering. Flailing. Because I didn't have clarity, my Christian walk was hard. No guidance at all. No maturity at all.

Time to read the Bible with some new lenses. May the Holy Spirit open my eyes to the truth in the Word. Bah, now I have a renewed hunger for the Word.
